I choose the chapter dedicated to the reification and mental landscape. In my first presentation I had an idea of project named: Landscapes,ephifanies, random memories in YouTube an Ipod Era. I found this subject interesting but how to join this with an architectural process?

The answer is in the Mental Landscape and in a book: The Songlines, by Bruce Chatwin.




This book reveals the cognitive process made by aboriginals through songs, in describing the world and creating an invisible network of street/lines. A totemic narration of the world, in which only the members of the community, can move consciousness, while the others can move simply knowing the theme but not the lyric.



“Walkabout” is the key world.
In the movie Australia the idea of the conscious journey compared to the hyper-conscious “idiot savant” is underlined by adding in the movie, the main theme and images taken by The Wizard of Oz, the yellow brick road.

So, how to leave a sign of ourselves in the landscape, in the spaces we live? How to be ourselves points of an emotional map?


Youtube, Facebook are may be the answer to our desire of leaving a sign. A memory of our time.


Movies create stereotypes activating memories, almost immediately. Our uploads bild up our songline/roads; movies frame the landmarks of our emotional territory.

How to let the world aware about this emotional map in an inedited way and how to be surprised along the emotional journey, unforeseeable in this case?

“The tube”, the television for the American, is a metaphor describing the TV. It is the cathode ray tube where images pass through.

The search of a possible reification of this invisible road network is a journey that, in random mode, gives the possibility of travelling in the emotional territory through a series of projecting means.

A specific project kept my imagination and I believe it could be the answer to my needs, from a strictly formal and functional point of view. The structure I submit is HEAVEN:

HEAVEN – Concept
“Heaven” is the title of an ephemeral space whose purpose is to show off the virtues of a constructional system using a plastic material, developed by the Resyrok company, at the latest Casa Decor fair in Barcelona, Spain, whose theme was “Pathway to a sustainable environment”. Casa Decor is an annual event, which since 1992 has shown the leading edge of interior design and decoration from the most prestigious architects and designers in many cities around the world (such as Madrid, Barcelona, Oporto, Lisbon, Milan, Turin, London, São Paulo and Miami).

My Concept

This emotional Tube, will be a place where we can leave our sentences, diaries, pictures, videos; all this products, will be made at the moment, put in the tube through an usb device, a camera, a webcam, the pc keyboard and also the lap top.

It’s like a TVBOX, but more powerful.

So all the messages left in a random way will animate the Tube. The products will be uploaded in the tube at moment and then in a random way, to contain and broadcast the memory of the passants

So it’s not important the place in which the Tube will be placed, the focal point is in the interaction the Tube will create in a new way, not only between us and our Pc and then the web, but between us and all people passing in that place in a certain period.

A place that is like the reification of the main page of Facebook, in which in a random way, we can know something about people who passed before. This memory will be projected on the lightened wall, like the pictures, the voice, the part of the MOVIE.

It will be an emotional map of that place.

A map of everyone’s journey discovering the “Tube” .





The book Introduzione alla rivoluzione informatica in architettura reveals the new landmarks characterizing the third wave, Information. New approaching methods to reality, inconsciously assimilated during these years, have been revealed in journeys deliberately near to hypertext. The book goes back over the process evolutionary steps, and it is possible, in the antithesis between functionalist world and the world of information, to trace the rules to be followed to play the game with our present/future. The definition of some important ideas of the classical physics, reread in IT, give the measure in which the cognitive relativity will move away from objective theories, opening new subjective possibilities of a relation between world and information. As a present architect I would like to ask in how can we really enter this reality, touching or modifying it from the inside without stopping to the very surface? Other university have created many departments where they study how to enter into this subject; they have realized a series of works allowing to get through the fourth dimension of the leap, that made of the prostheses the cognitive medium of that reality, let’s talk about the organization of our future research.. ;)
